Shame !
3After playing this mood — You may discard a card from your hand. If you do, suppress all other moods that share a color with the discarded card. Those moods remain suppressed for as long as you have this mood. (While suppressed, those moods have a value of [0]. Turn them sideways to keep track.)
11 notes
- "May" means this effect is optional. You may just play the card for its score and not do its effect.
- A card that is suppressed has a value of [0] for the purposes of scoring. This includes cards that start at [0] and gain value due to effects.
- The suppressed mood is still in play and is counted for any effects that care. For example, your opponent suppresses your Sadness (worth [2] extra for every card in the discard pile). Sadness now has a value of [0], but it is still a black card in play that can help make your Excitement worth [6].
- If the mood is suppressed for "as long as you have this mood," the mood stays suppressed as long as that mood remains in play. If that mood leaves play, the suppressed mood is no longer suppressed. If the suppressing mood leaves play, the card it is affecting will revert to the value it would naturally have based on the state of the game. If a choice had previously been made for the mood (from when you played it) that previous choice returns.
- If this mood moves to another player, the suppressed card remains suppressed.
- Discard is optional. If you don't discard a card, Shame has no effect and simply has a value of [3].
- Only the moods that are the color of the discarded card at the time of this mood's effects become suppressed. If a mood later changes to that color, it doesn't become suppressed. If a new mood enters play of the discarded card's color, it doesn't become suppressed.
- If a mood suppressed by Shame changes color, it stays suppressed. It only matters if it was that color at the time it was suppressed.
- Shame affects your moods of the discarded card's color.
- If Shame leaves play, all moods suppressed by it stop being suppressed.
- If Imagination ("All moods are the chosen color") is in play, your cards in hand are the color they actually are and are not the color all moods have been changed to by Imagination. Let's say Imagination is set to white. If you want to suppress all the cards in play, you will need to discard a card that is actually white.
